Occupational Health Nursing

Nurse Practitioners specializing in occupational health may work in a wide range of settings, including governmental agencies, health care facilities, insurance companies, consulting firms, or within a given industry. The primary role of the Occupational Health NP is to ensure the continued health of working populations through both health promotion and the prevention of injuries and diseases. To this end, the Occupational Health NP may serve as a primary care provider, educator, consultant, and case manager.
