    Nursing - (AS)

This Concorde Career Colleges program leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree and prepares students to take the National Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX.RN). Graduates who pass the NCLEX.RN can enter the healthcare workforce as confident, competent professional nurses. Armed with the foundational education and training this program provides, the RN is highly skilled and prepared to function in the following roles in this growing medical field: provider of care, manager of care, and contributing member of a healthcare team. At bedside, the RN is accountable for decisions that impact healthcare outcomes for the patient. Beginning students in this program are enrolled in general education courses, nursing theory courses, and clinical practice. The nursing courses begin with Foundations courses that introduce students to the practice of nursing, nursing theories, legal and ethical issues in nursing, and basic concepts of patient care. Students then advance through nursing courses that include more complex concepts in patient care and specialty nursing areas such as mental health, maternal-child nursing and care of pediatric patients.
