Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Advanced Leadership in Health Care (ALHC) (Online)

Regis University's online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) provides masters-prepared RNs the opportunity to advance their education in a flexible online format. The curriculum is unique in that it not only offers an emphasis pertinent to advanced practice nurses, but is also provides a non-clinical emphasis for nurse leaders within health care agencies not currently working in advanced practice roles.

Regis' Online DNP:

  • Has no set login times, allowing you to "go to class" when it's convenient for you during the week
  • Requires no campus visits, making anywhere you have a reliable connection to the internet your virtual classroom
  • Allows you to complete your degree in 6 semesters of full-time study
  • Is delivered in an accelerated 8-week format, where you typically enroll in one online course each term
  • Starts every year in the fall (August)

The DNP will provide you with a theoretical and practical foundation for nursing practice in a variety of settings. The focus of your experiences will be on diverse, underserved, and vulnerable populations in urban and rural settings with the goal to improve direct and indirect health care services. You have two options for focus areas depending on their educational background:

  • The Advanced Practice Nursing (APRN) track is open to any nurse who currently holds an advanced practice certification.
  • The Advanced Leadership in Health Care (ALHC) track is open to any nurse who currently holds any MSN, or MS in Nursing degree from a NLN or AACN accredited program, offered at a regionally accredited school.

Regis University's Master of Science, Nursing (MS): Leadership in Health Care Systems program has been designed with the working adult in mind. Our innovative curriculum, offered in both online and campus-based formats, enables nurses with a BSN to earn their MS in Nursing- Leadership degree in as little as 24 months. Convenience is our focus. Our online option has with no set login times and doesn’t require campus visits, allowing you to set your own schedule. The campus-based option meets one night each week.

Focus

In the Leadership in Health Care Systems program, you have the option to focus the curriculum in either education or management (advanced practice options not available online). Students who select education are awarded a Graduate Academic Certificate in Health Care Education to accompany their MS in Nursing degree. Awarding this credential helps to exemplify an advanced knowledge base and ability to teach nursing competencies.
