Founded in 1909, the fully accredited and highly prestigious Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) was one of the first establishments to recognize the need for nursing skills to be developed within the institution of higher learning, drastically improving the quality of nursing education. The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) accredits Vanderbilt University. Vanderbilt is also approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
