West Coast University (WCU), with campuses in Dallas, Los Angeles, Ontario, and Orange County, offers Bachelor and Master’s level degree programs that are designed to help you reach your educational and professional goals while balancing an already busy life and work schedule. We want to help you advance in the health care industry through higher education.
WCU puts extensive thought into the design of our campus facilities. Our philosophy is that our buildings - just like every other aspect of the University - must support, promote and encourage student success and academic excellence. At WCU, students learn various skills and procedures by using the wide range of modern equipment provided for our nursing programs.
WCU offers several Bachelor of Science in Nursing program tracks, each designed to fit your specific needs. Each track includes classroom lectures and hands-on training in a clinical setting. In addition to learning how to provide the best care for your patients, you’ll also study leadership and management techniques, critical thinking, and moral, ethical, and legal principles in health care.
Whether you are just beginning your nursing education, have been working as a Registered Nurse for years, or are an LVN ready to take your education to the next level, there is a BSN program at West Coast University that can fit your needs.
The BSN program is open to students who have a high school diploma or GED. The RN to BSN program is open to students who have an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and proof of an unobstructed professional license as a Registered Nurse in the United States. The LVN to BSN program is open to graduates of an approved LVN program and who hold a current unobstructed LVN license. Applicants for all programs must attain passing scores on the WCU entrance exams.
The BSN program at WCU Dallas is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
The LVN to BSN program at West Coast University (WCU) offers licensed vocational nurses the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, as well as qualify to become a Registered Nurse. The LVN to BSN curriculum is a part of West Coast University's CCNE1-accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and gives you access to all of WCU's technologically advanced equipment and facilities.
West Coast University designed its RN to BSN program specifically to meet the needs of the working RN at our three convenient Southern California locations and our newest location in Dallas. Each class in this program is taught in a 10-week span, allowing the student to focus on fewer subjects at a time and gain a deeper understanding of the material. At the Los Angeles campus, you only need to attend classes onsite the first and last weekend of each term, with the balance of the coursework completed online.
Applicants for the RN to BSN program must have graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing and hold a current license as an RN in the US.
Programs vary by campus.
