Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
The undergraduate nursing program combines the latest in clinical
theory with traditional nursing values that emphasize holistic
patient care. The distinct advantage of a four-year program is
that it gives students the opportunity to combine a strong
theoretical base of biological and behavioral sciences with a
foundation in the liberal arts. This program is ranked among the
top ten in the nation.
Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN
The Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN program is designed to enable
students with a previous baccalaureate degree to earn a
baccalaureate degree in nursing. This is an intensive, fast-paced
program which builds upon a student's previous education while
providing the science and nursing content to enable students to
earn a BSN degree within three terms of full-time study or a new
part-time option. Admission to this program is highly competitive
and is based upon proven academic achievement and grades earned
in pre-requisite courses. Successful completion of this program
will earn the student eleven credits toward the MSN requirement
should the student decide to pursue a master's in nursing degree
at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
RN-to-BSN
Our RN-to-BSN program provides a quality, affordable way for
registered nurses to earn their degrees. Most RNs complete the
degree through two years of part-time study. Many courses require
only one day of in-class participation per month and the rest of
the learning is done independently via web supported learning
activities, readings and homework assignments. Courses are
individually tailored to meet the specific needs of RNs and are
consistent with adult learning principles. Each course focuses on
specific knowledge and skills needed in the workplace to keep
pace with rapid changes in health care. Besides enhancing your
professional and personal sense of accomplishment, earning a
degree from Pitt opens doors for career advancement.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
