Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a comprehensive urban university located on the South Texas Gulf Coast. The University focuses on the higher education needs of South Texas and the state, and on coastal and urban issues, with special emphasis on Allied Health, Applied Technology, Arts and Humanities, Business Administration, Environmental Studies and Teacher Education.

BSN Programs

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs at TAMU-CC are designed to prepare professional nurses who are well-grounded in the arts, sciences and humanities. These courses provide a reservoir of knowledge from which to draw in making critical clinical decisions in the roles of care provider or coordinator.

Programs offered are the following:

• Generic four-year BSN program
• RN-BSN Completion for the RN who wishes to build upon previous education and earn a baccalaureate degree

MSN Programs

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program enhances and expands the clinical competence of baccalaureate nurses. The focus of the program is to prepare nurses for advanced practice roles. Emphasis is placed on facilitating health care delivery within a multi-cultural framework. The graduate nursing curriculum includes five core courses and specific courses related to the role specialization. The variety of learning opportunities and the flexibility of options provided by the curriculum will accommodate the diverse clinical and functional interests of students who enroll in the program.

Programs offered are the following:

• Traditional MSN program for BSN-prepared registered nurses
• RN-MSN program for registered nurses who have earned a diploma or associate degree in nursing and who meet all other requirements for admission into the MSN degree program
• A bridge into the MSN program for RN's that have degrees in other disciplines.

Students may select one of the following role specializations:

• Nursing Administration
• Nursing Education with a Medical-Surgical Clinical Focus
• Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Temple Campus only)
• Family Nurse Practitioner

Post-master's certificates are also available.

Health Sciences Program

The BS in Health Sciences provides individuals with technical licenses or certification in an allied health field with the opportunity to broaden their base of knowledge and augment their technical skills. Dental hygienists, emergency medical technicians, radiologic technologists, respiratory therapists and others have the avenue to increase their value as a member of the health care team in a rapidly changing medical environment which requires an advanced level of practitioner in physician support roles.
