Students who hold an AAS degree may transfer in up to 64 credits. Those who graduated from a diploma program or a program that is not NLN accredited, but have RN licensure in the U.S., are eligible to receive up to 33 transfer credits in nursing that will be placed in an escrow account. These credits will be granted upon successful completion of all 300-level nursing courses.

Applicants may also establish general education credits by passing validation examinations in any or all of the following subject areas: anatomy and physiology, chemistry and microbiology. All general education validation examinations are administered in the University's Learning Resource Center.

Students who have fewer than 1,200 hours of work experience as an RN must take the NU 490 nursing internship.

This program is facilitated through Marymount's Reston Center, located just off the Dulles Toll Road.

Accelerated BSN

The Accelerated BSN program may be completed in four semesters by students who have earned a non-nursing bachelor's degree. Students are admitted to this program in the fall and spring semesters. Admission to this program is competitive. To be eligible to be reviewed for admission, students must have earned a non-nursing bachelor's degree. Additionally, they must achieve a competitive score on the ATI pre-admission examination or be exempted from the exam. Exemption is automatically granted for students having a bachelor's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.8 or greater.
