Marymount University

Marymount University is an independent Catholic university that emphasizes academic excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Committed to the liberal arts tradition, the University combines a foundation in the arts and sciences with career preparation and opportunities for personal and professional development. Marymount is a student-centered learning community that values diversity and focuses on the education of the whole person, promoting the intellectual, spiritual, and moral growth of each individual. Scholarship, leadership, service and ethics are hallmarks of a Marymount education.

The University

Just minutes from Washington, DC, Marymount's main campus is located on 21 hillside acres in Arlington, Virginia. The nearby Ballston Center, also in Arlington, is two blocks from the Ballston-MU Metro station. Marymount's location provides excellent opportunities for clinical learning in diverse health care settings and community agencies in the Washington metropolitan area. Marymount also offers a variety of programs for adult learners through its Reston Center, which facilitates the School of Health Professions' RN-to-BSN program.

The School of Health Professions

The mission of the School of Health Professions is to encourage the individual development of each student and enable students to become competent health care professionals. The school seeks to promote a scholarly climate that fosters critical thinking, creativity, ethical decision-making, and self-directed lifelong learning in an environment where knowledge and research are valued. The faculty members are outstanding teachers who are generous with their time and also are committed to service in the community, professional organizations and research.
