University of San Diego
Hahn School of Nursing & Health Science
5998 Alcala Park
San Diego, CA 92110-2492

University of San Diego

A friendly campus atmosphere, rigorous intellectual challenges and opportunity for stimulating intellectual exchange between professors and students, class sizes which facilitate personal attention and instructor accessibility, concern for broad professional and personal development of students and employees, emphasis on the role of values and ethics in academic and non-academic programs-such are the elements creating the educational environment at the University of San Diego, a Catholic university.

The Hahn School of Nursing and Health Sciences

Located in Alcalá Park, high on a hill with views of the Pacific Ocean, San Diego Harbor and Mission Bay, the Hahn School of Nursing is centered on the university's beautiful campus, noted for its Spanish Renaissance style. The School is characterized as a private school with a public conscience. Progressive faculty prepare researchers, leaders, educators and clinicians skilled in the science of nursing.

Accelerated RN-to-MSN

Designed for the associate's degree or diploma-prepared nurse, this program leads to the awarding of both the BSN and MSN degrees and eligibility for certification as a public health nurse in the state of California. The accelerated program is designed to decrease the total number of credits for the two degrees. The specialty tracks offered at the MSN level are listed below.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

The purpose of the MSN program is to provide leadership preparation that will enable the graduate to assume a significant role in nursing and health care delivery. The following tracks are available:

  • Clinical Nursing
  • Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Executive Nurse Leader
  • Adult Nurse Practitioner
  • Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

In addition, a joint-degree program leading to the MSN/MBA is offered with the School of Business Administration. The school also offers several options within the MSN program. These options are open to all MSN students:
