Master's - NursingLiberty University's Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program prepares nurses for advanced practice as Adult/Acute Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs) or as Nurse Educators. Clinical practicum experiences are tailored to meet the individual interests and learning needs of each student. With the guidance of faculty mentors and approved preceptors, students develop clinical practicum goals and objectives based on their specialty areas of practice within either the adult health care or educational setting. Graduates of this program are prepared to practice as Adult/Acute CNSs or Nurse Educators in a variety of clinical and educational settings. Moreover, graduates possess the critical thinking skills and knowledge needed to promote the profession of nursing through teaching, clinical practice, program development and implementation, and scholarship. Prior to enrollment in Liberty University's M.S.N. Online program, potential students are encouraged to research their respective State Boards of Nursing for information about clinical nurse specialist practice and certification relevant to the nurse practice act and requirements for certification. Prospective students should also contact their state's Department of Education to verify access to practicum sites while enrolled in an out-of-state online program. Most M.S.N. courses are offered in an 8-week format year-round. The Adult/Acute CNS and Nurse Educator track courses are 14 to 16 weeks in length. There are no residency requirements for the online M.S.N. program. *This program will not prepare you to become a Nurse Practitioner. Bachelor's - Nursing (RN-to-BSN)Liberty University's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (R.N. to B.S.N.) program prepares you for positions of leadership in the nursing field. Courses are specifically designed for the practicing nurse, drawing from your real-life nursing experiences to expand your knowledge. You will develop strong leadership skills in collaboration with clients, other professionals and groups within the community for the purpose of promoting, maintaining and restoring health. You will utilize critical-thinking and problem-solving skills in determining nursing interventions and applying therapeutic skills, with emphasis placed on refining written, communication and research skills. This program is only available for students who already are registered nurses. Potential Career Options:
"Liberty University has been a blessing to me and my family. I
had put off getting my BSN because it took me so long to attain
my RN in a traditional program. When I researched my options I
found that Liberty met all my needs. The professors are fantastic
and they seem to care about all aspects of your life, especially
the nursing professors. The flexibility and ease of using the
online Blackboard system made my life easier as I started on this
new journey. When I was going through a hard time recently with
family issues, I asked the ministry team at LU to pray for my
family and they responded immediately. Thanks LU for all you do
for our community."
