In the past several years, Barry's nursing program has celebrated
a more than 90% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN. A great majority of
our alumni also report employment within two months of
graduation. They serve as chief nursing officers, vice presidents
of nursing, chief operating officers, executive directors, nurse
managers, clinicians, and bedside nurses. Alumni sit on
governmental boards, and many have received federal grants.

Dedicated and Highly-Qualified Faculty
Faculty have served as invited presenters at local, national, and
international conferences, including the prestigious STTI
International Nursing Research Congress. Some of Barry's nursing
faculty accomplishments include publications in peer-reviewed
journals and research studies, such as: Banks Multicultural
Model: A Framework for Integrating Multiculturalism into Nursing

South Florida Location
Clinicals are held in some of the nation's best hospitals, such
as Jackson Memorial Hospital, Baptist Health facilities, and
Miami Children's Hospital. In addition, the diversity of this
region will help prepare you to respond to the needs of patients
from various cultures, religions, age groups, lifestyles, and
socio-economic sectors.

Program Options Designed to Meet your Needs
Whether you are a high school graduate; an RN seeking a BSN
program; a post-baccalaureate RN who wants to earn an advance
practice degree as a nurse administrator, nurse educator, or
nurse practitioner; or a master's-prepared nurse seeking a
doctoral degree, you will find a program designed to fit your
needs and industry trends.
Basic BSN Program

For high school graduates or those who have a few college
credits, Barry offers a traditional BSN program that prepares you
to enter nursing practice, progress to positions requiring
administrative skills, and prepare for graduate study in nursing.
Accelerated BSN Program

If you hold a bachelor's degree out of the nursing field and
would like to practice nursing, you can achieve your goal with
Barry. With the right qualifications and prerequisites, you can
finish all required nursing courses in 15 months in the
accelerated BSN program. This program is also open to students
who have completed all the liberal arts requirements and have
obtained a 3.0 GPA.
RN-to-BSN and RN/BS-to-MSN Bridge Option

RNs who are graduates of state-approved diploma or associate
degree programs will find our RN-to-BSN option responsive to
their needs. In addition to the traditional program, RNs with
bachelor's degrees in fields other than nursing can move directly
to the MSN in the RN/BS-to-MSN bridge option.

Barry's MSN and Post-Master's Certificate programs can prepare
you to act as advocate, role model, liaison, and change agent for
the nursing profession, the client, and the community. In both
the MSN and Post-Master's Certificate programs, you can
specialize in:
- Nursing Administration
- Nursing Education
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Barry's acute care nurse practitioner program is the one of a few
in the country with education and leadership components. The
family nurse practitioner program also offers an administrative
and leadership component.
PhD Program

Barry's PhD in Nursing program fosters a community of scholars
who endeavor to discover or extend knowledge that advances the
science and practice of nursing, and contributes to the knowledge
base of other disciplines. To accommodate your needs, Barry
offers both a traditional, part-time academic year program and a
full-time summer residency program.
DNP Program

As an alternative to the research-focused PhD degree, Barry also
offers a Doctor of Nursing Practice for nurses who currently have
a master's degree in nursing. The DNP is a practice-focused
program designed for advanced practice nurses who wish to attain
the highest level of educational preparation and excellence in
nursing practice, or in areas that support clinical practice,
such as management and policymaking. The DNP program may be
completed in seven continuous semesters of part-time study.
