Colorado Technical University - North Kansas City
At Colorado Technical University (CTU) we are in the business of career education. That makes not only you our customer but also the employers we work with our customers. We care about you and your future, and your future employer's needs. That is the CTU difference.
We are dedicated to providing academic excellence. If you're looking for an exciting and rewarding career in today's rapidly expanding fields, we can help you get there.
At CTU, our approach is:
Fast
At CTU, we condense your study into a short-term program enabling you to customize your skills rapidly and successfully to the specific needs of a future work setting. Unlike traditional institutions, we enable adults to complete some programs of study in as little as 9 months. Generally, classes start every 5 weeks, so you can get started quickly with convenient day and evening classes to meet your needs.
Focused
At CTU, your studies focus primarily on the essential concepts and skills most employers look for in entry-level employees. Our goal is to provide you with the practical information and experience you need to get your foot in the door. We avoid requiring you to take courses that are not directly supportive of your employment objective.
Hands-On
Technology plays a major role in all the professions for which we train our students. That's why we use industry-current tools to help deliver your education more effectively. During the hands-on component you will use industry-oriented equipment to gain experience applying your knowledge.
Diploma in Practical Nursing
Our practical nursing program is designed to provide students with the essential basic nursing skills needed to provide competent and skilled direct patient care under the direction of a professional health team member. Our knowledgeable instructors help students develop the interpersonal and problem-solving skills that are required to work effectively within a complex health care delivery system.
The curriculum examines:
- Simple treatments
- Effective communication with physicians and nursing staff
- Working with a medical team
- Use of technical equipment
When students graduate from the practical nursing program, they meet the educational requirements to sit for the National council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).*
*Registration or certification requirements for taking and passing exams are not controlled by Colorado Technical University but by outside agencies and are subject to change without notice to CTU. CTU cannot guarantee that graduates will be eligible to take certification exams, regardless of the eligibility status upon enrollment, or that graduates will successfully complete such exams.
