Seton Hall UniversitySeton Hall is located 14 miles southwest of New York City on 58 green acres in the village of South Orange, New Jersey. From its original enrollment of a handful of students, Seton Hall has become a major Catholic university, growing to more than 10,000 students. Following Mother Seton's example, the University has been a pioneer in many areas: naming the first woman dean of law in the United States; gaining world recognition for its mobile computing program; founding SetonWorldWide, an online education initiative; and introducing service learning into the curriculum which integrates academic and community-based learning. The College of NursingSeton Hall University College of Nursing is one of the region's most prestigious academic institutions and a recognized leader in online education. The College of Nursing established New Jersey's first baccalaureate nursing program in 1937 and has provided quality education for more than 65 years. Recognizing the increasing complexity of modern health care delivery and in-depth educational preparation needed to meet this challenge, the college then established the graduate program in 1975. Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN)Back to topThe 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program combines a liberal education with basic preparation in professional nursing. Registered nurse baccalaureate graduates are prepared to practice nursing in a variety of settings, which may include, among others:
This future-oriented curriculum highlights wellness and health promotion as well as disease management. RN-to-BSNBack to topThis program is designed for students who are registered nurses. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is awarded at the completion of the nursing and liberal arts and sciences requirements. Students complete 56 credits in arts and sciences, 32 nursing credits through licensure and 37 credits in nursing for a total of 125 credits. Thirty credits must be earned by taking classes offered by Seton Hall University. Second Degree BSNBack to topThe accelerated nursing curriculum is designed for college graduates holding a baccalaureate degree. This program requires a fall, winter, spring, summer and second shortened fall accelerated schedule. The program takes 13 months to complete. The nursing course and other requirements are equivalent to those of the BSN program. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)Back to topThe master's education includes knowledge and practice for advanced role development in the areas of administration, education and/or advanced clinical practice. The student uses the scientific method to refine, test and promote the use of research-based practice.

Joint MSN/MBABack to topSeton Hall University's College of Nursing and the Stillman School of Business have joined to offer a dual degree MSN in Health Systems Administration/MBA. The MSN in Health Systems Administration focuses on the new set of skills demanded by today's health care environment:
Along with clinical expertise, students learn to be responsive to the needs of multiple constituencies, from patients to physicians. The MBA provides a newly revised multidisciplinary environment integrating the latest technology into the strategic planning process. Full-time students can complete the MSN and MBA in 2 years. A part-time option allows students to complete the program in as few as 36 months. Master of Arts (MA) in Nursing EducationBack to topThe college also offers a 30-credit Master of Arts in Nursing Education for nurses who hold a Master of Science in Nursing. The MA in Nursing Education program may also be completed in combination with any of the MSN programs offered by the College of Nursing.
