Academic Facilities – West Palm Beach

In January 2010, South University West Palm Beach relocated to a new facility at University Centre in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, to better serve students and the broader Palm Beach County community. The facility features a hurricane-resistant infrastructure and includes several large labs, lecture halls, a library, and seminar rooms.

The West Palm Beach campus library houses a large collection that includes extensive law resources. Students may retrieve periodicals in paper or electronic form. Library-based computers provide access to several commercial online services, including Westlaw, the computerized legal research service; and the Southeastern Library Network (SOLINET). CD-ROM resources include the Grolier's Multimedia Encyclopedia and the EBSCO magazine full-text database. Internet access is available in the library.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at South University prepares graduates to work in a wide variety of healthcare settings including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, home health, community-based clinics, and school health clinics.

The program also gives you the opportunity to:

  • Study innovative healthcare concepts
  • Study palliative care, gerontological nursing, and complementary and alternative nursing methods.
  • Enhance your patient teaching skills and your ability to motivate and train nursing staff.
  • Develop management abilities by expanding your critical thinking skills in establishing priorities, delegating responsibility and formulating decisions.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

The South University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program prepares individuals to enter the nursing profession. Specifically, graduates of the program are able to incorporate the concepts of caring, communication, critical thinking and professionalism to provide quality health care.

Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the program encompasses curriculum that is structured as an accelerated program of study. Students may complete prerequisite courses in as few as 6 quarters and be eligible to receive an Associate of Science in Allied Health Science degree.

To enter the Bachelor of Science degree program in Nursing, students must undergo a selection process that includes an academic performance review, entrance examination review and personal interview.

The comprehensive theoretical and clinical practice component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program allows graduates to make a smooth transition into professional nursing practice at a variety of health care settings and/or further study if they choose.
