Master's - Nursing

Liberty University's Master of Science in Nursing program equips students to provide expert clinical care and related health care services and programs to individuals, families and people groups across the lifespan in a variety of acute care and community settings. Emphasis is placed on advanced practice in nursing, and the role of the clinical nurse specialist (CNS) is integrated throughout the curriculum. Clinical practicum experiences are based upon students' selected area of practice, and are designed to develop clinical competence and produce strong skills in leadership. Through this program, students will also gain strong awareness of ethical, social and spiritual issues relevant to health and nursing care. Graduates of this program are prepared to practice as a CNS with the critical thinking skills and knowledge needed to promote the profession of nursing through teaching, clinical practice, program development and implementation, and scholarship.

Bachelor's - Nursing (RN to BSN)

Liberty University's Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN) degree program prepares registered nurses for positions of leadership in the nursing field, encouraging professional development and personal growth, as well as opening the door for continued education at the graduate level. Courses are specifically designed for the practicing nurse, drawing from students' real-life nursing experiences to expand their knowledge. They will develop strong leadership skills in collaboration with clients, other professionals and groups within the community for the purpose of promoting, maintaining and restoring health. Students will utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in determining nursing interventions and applying therapeutic skills, with emphasis placed on refining written, communication and research skills.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree serves as an excellent stepping-stone toward earning a Master of Science in Nursing, which is also offered online through Liberty's distance learning program.
