The South University - Columbia campus is situated in the Carolina Research Park, off Interstate 77 in northeast Columbia, one of the fastest growing sections of the city.
Campus facilities comprise 40,000 square feet of space that includes wireless technology, classrooms, a medical lab for students pursuing health care degrees, three computer labs and video conferencing capabilities.

Back to topThe South University Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program prepares individuals to enter the nursing profession. Specifically, graduates of the program are able to incorporate the concepts of caring, communication, critical thinking and professionalism to provide quality health care.
Approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the program encompasses curriculum that is structured as an accelerated program of study. Students may complete prerequisite courses in as few as 6 quarters and be eligible to receive an Associate of Science in Allied Health Science degree.
To enter the Bachelor of Science degree program in Nursing, students must undergo a selection process that includes an academic performance review, entrance examination review and personal interview.
The comprehensive theoretical and clinical practice component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program allows graduates to make a smooth transition into professional nursing practice at a variety of health care settings and/or further study if they choose.
Nursing RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Back to topThe nursing RN to BSN degree completion program is designed for registered nurses (RNs) who hold an associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution or who hold a diploma from a school of nursing accredited by the National League of Nursing (NLNAC).
This degree program is structured in a way that gives students the flexibility to fit education into their busy schedules so they don't have to put their career or life on hold while pursuing a degree. The accelerated course schedule combines campus and online classes, helping RNs achieve their goal of a BSN in the most efficient way possible.
In this program, students will explore innovative health care concepts as they relate to disciplines such as:
- Palliative care
- Gerontological nursing
- Complementary and alternative nursing methods
They also will develop management skills in critical areas such as establishing priorities, delegating responsibility and making sound decisions.
