Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

This program graduates nurses in four semesters instead of the usual six following completion of all pre-professional core course work. This allows Georgia State University to make a significant impact on the critical nursing shortage in Georgia. A strong college-level science background is required for admission but not a baccalaureate degree. The program is expected to attract people considering a career change. Admissions standards will be stricter and students are discouraged from outside employment while enrolled.

The undergraduate Nursing program at Georgia State University has a special program for advance placement of Registered Nurses. Master's Program

The master's program in nursing is open to registered nurses who wish to continue their education by obtaining an advanced degree. There are two admission options: RNs with a baccalaureate degree in nursing and RNs prepared at the associate or diploma level who have had outstanding practice experience and professional involvements. RNs who do not have a baccalaureate degree in nursing must complete additional undergraduate coursework as prerequisites to master's coursework. The determination of required undergraduate coursework is based on an evaluation of each applicant's past academic work and on current undergraduate requirements for the baccalaureate in nursing program.
