The Nurse Assistant program is a comprehensive course designed to
teach students the skills and abilities essential to the
provision of basic care to patients and residents in hospitals
and long term care facilities. Graduates of this program will be
able to communicate and interact effectively with patients,
assist patients in attaining and maintaining maximum functional
independence, while observing patient rights. They will learn how
to perform vital signs, apply the elements of basic nutrition in
meal planning, and follow infection control measures.
Additionally, they will be able to apply proper body mechanics in
bed making, lifting, and turning patients. Graduates of this
program may find entry-level employment as a nurse aide with
hospitals and nursing homes.

a Pharmacy Technician in retail or hospital settings. The program

field of pharmacy.

Diploma - Professional Massage Therapy

The Professional Massage Therapy Program prepares students to
become successful Massage Therapists eligible to work in a
variety of therapeutic environments. The program exceeds
standards set by the state and national certification, providing
in depth training in the art and science of massage therapy,
focusing on clinical methods and advanced techniques.
The program features:
- Solid foundation in Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology and
Pathology
- The Art and Science of Swedish Massage
- Successful Business Mastery
- Advanced training in Myofascial Release, Trigger Point
Therapy, and Special Populations
- Adjunctive training in Reflexology, Aromatherapy,
Acupressure, Sports Massage and Pre-natal.
Duration: 7.5 months, Morning or Evening programs
*The Professional Massage Therapy program is offered
exclusively at our McAllen and Brownville locations.
DSHS license #MS0149 for the PMT program at the Brownsville and
