Don't just take our word for it: The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has granted accreditation to American Sentinel for its RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN), RN to Master of Science in Nursing (RN to MSN), and Master of Science in Nursing, which offers four specialty areas: case management, nursing informatics, management and organizational leadership, and nursing education.
Recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, CCNE is an autonomous branch of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the only accrediting body devoted exclusively to evaluating baccalaureate and graduate nursing degree programs.
Accreditation ensures a quality education – which means positive career prospectsCCNE is nationally recognized as the foremost accrediting authority for nursing schools. Students seek out accredited programs like American Sentinel's online nursing degrees because:

- It enables them to meet requirement criteria when applying for advanced degrees
Plus, nursing and human resources hiring managers view accreditation as a quality stamp, so they prefer to hire workers with nursing degrees from accredited institutions. It's one way healthcare facilities can promise high standards to their constituents.
American Sentinel nursing students know that accreditation will take them places"I work for the Federal Government and they will recognize a degree from a school that is accredited with either regional or CCNE accreditation in the field of nursing," said Ann Marie Flory, Master's of Science in Nursing student at American Sentinel University.
"The CCNE accreditation is a benchmark of excellence for the nursing programs. Should I decide to further my degree, i.e., DNP or a Ph.D., it will be necessary to show I graduated from a school with this accreditation."
RN to Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) (Online)
The RN to MSN degree is designed for registered nurses with an associate degree in nursing and at least two years of experience. This program provides nurses the opportunity to earn a MSN degree without earning a bachelor's degree.
Students must complete 18 credit hours of baccalaureate level nursing courses and 3 credit hours of professional communication. A 3.0 GPA must be maintained for each of these courses. Upon completion of these courses, students will apply to our MSN program. Those who are not able to achieve a 3.0 in each of the nursing courses, but do have a 2.5 cumulative GPA will be allowed to complete the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) sequence and then apply separately to the Masters Degree in Nursing program.
