Associate of Science in Nursing

The mission of the Nursing Program at Carrington College (Formerly Apollo College) is to develop highly educated, knowledgeable, skill-oriented graduates who possess the necessary behavior and attitudes to become entry-level Registered Nurses to serve the needs of the community after completing state licensing requirements. A focus of the program is to prepare graduates to successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

The Nursing program is built upon a base of general education courses that will give the nursing student critical thinking and mathematical skills as well as perspectives from the humanities and social sciences. This base enables nursing students to think critically, make decisions, gain independence, organize work, take initiative, supervise others and become responsible employees and life-long learners.

Instruction takes place on campus in classrooms, learning skills laboratory, computer laboratory and at various clinical affiliation agencies in greater Phoenix. Nursing students are provided with the appropriate didactic, laboratory facilities, instructions and quality clinical education that prepares them to perform competently after graduation.

The program length is 64 weeks plus semester breaks. Graduates of the Nursing Program will be awarded an Associate of Science from Carrington College (Formerly Apollo College).
