Baker University
At Baker University, we've been delivering excellence in the classroom since 1858. We continue to build on this tradition with quality professors, bright students, and a strong commitment to innovation. Together, these elements help create an interactive learning environment that promotes participation and sparks ideas. It's not surprising that our alumni include four Rhodes Scholars and two Pulitzer Prize winners.
In recent years, Baker University has gained a national reputation for quality and high academic achievement. We are ranked among the top 100 private schools in the nation by Money Magazine and recognized in Barron's Best Buys in College Education. Baker also ranks second among all private and public colleges in Kansas for the percentage of students accepted to graduate programs. We are consistently ranked one of the top universities in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
The School of Nursing
As we approach the new millennium, the demand for nurses with a baccalaureate degree will continue to increase. The health care system continues to change as population shifts change health care needs. At Baker University, our faculty is committed to preparing nurses who have a strong theoretical foundation and excellent clinical practice skills. Currently, 100% of our students find jobs within their chosen field upon graduation.
The School of Nursing, which Baker operates in partnership with Stormont-Vail Regional HealthCare in Topeka, Kansas, offers a nursing degree in a traditional four-year program and in an abbreviated degree-completion program for nurses working in the field.
