DiversityBack to topDiversity is an important core value at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC). Diversity is defined at KUMC as everything that makes each person different and those things about each person that are similar. Diversity is what we can see and what we cannot see in each and every person at anytime, anywhere. Our medical center community is a community of each of us and all of us. It is a community-within-a-community. As a teaching, research and health care facility, we are diverse by the nature of our varying missions. The members of our community are here for different reasons. They include students, teachers, researchers, patients, families, visitors, employees and members of our local and regional community who come in contact with each of us and all of us in a variety of ways.
