Union College

Seventh-Day Adventist higher education is a great value, regardless of the school you might attend. Still, Union College is unique. We have a small, intimate environment. In fact, many describe our community as "family" and that's truly what we are. But what distinguishes Union College more than anything else is our level of student leadership.

The students who come to this school are already leaders. They want to make a difference and they want to do it before they graduate. Students plan, implement and participate in our programs. Students make a huge difference on our campus—they are the main reason we are so Christ-centered.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Union College offers a four-year curriculum in nursing, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The program is approved by the Nebraska State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Graduates are eligible to write National Council Licensing Examinations (NCLEX) for professional licensure. Nursing majors can join the new nursing honor society, Sigma Theta Tau International (Union's chapter-Nu Rho).

The Union College Nursing Program builds on the concept that human beings are created in the image of God who gave them individuality, autonomy, a capacity for intelligent choice and adaptive mechanisms to deal with change. Exercising the right of self-determination, human beings chose a course contrary to the principles that promote well-being, consequently forfeiting health in all dimensions. The goal of the nurse is to assist clients to achieve high-level wellness.

A broad base in the humanities, natural, social and nursing sciences provides the student with a solid foundation required to carry out the mission of the nursing program, which is to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to be competent caring generalists in the profession of nursing. The program is based on professional standards and reflects a commitment to wholeness, Christian service and Seventh-day Adventist values.

Second-Step Program

In addition to our BSN program, we offer a Second-Step program for LPNs and RNs to complete their BSN degrees. Program tracks offered for the BSN degree include:

• LPN-BSN
