Become a Geriatric Nurse
Clinical Nurse Specialists focusing on gerontology provide care for the elderly population, focusing in particular on the development and implementation of treatment plans for chronic illnesses. CNSs also provide education, support, and counsel for the families of elderly patients who are suffering from acute and chronic conditions. They are trained to apply nursing theory and research to clinical practice, and may function as researchers, administrators, consultants and educators in this field.
